Here's how it can be "extract" audio from video in VirtualDubMod:
Streams / Stream list / Save WAV (or Demux)

... sometimes instead of WAV, he actually only deliver MP3 (or WMA ... what is the tone in the original video )
If the WMA (audio from WMV video formats) ... take some Audio Converter that convert it in mp3.

This little program is great, if you will only cut parts from MP3 (without converting .. he work and simple "faid")
